The PDP has demanded an apology from Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath over his remarks on Ali, at an election rally last week. Senior PDP leader Naeem Akhtar said it was unfortunate that the ruling party had turned Muslims into punching bags, for political gain. Yogi Adityanath, while referring to Congress leader Kamal Nath's leaked video had said the Congress can keep their Ali, BJP had their Bajrangbali.
