Paralympians strut the runway for an Amputee fashion show in Tokyo

Sep 03, 2020 12:24 IST

Paralympic athletes took to the runway in Tokyo on Tuesday for the virtual Amputee Venus Show, originally slated to be held along with the opening of the Paralympic Games. While the Olympics and the Paralympics have been postponed in the wake of Covid-19, the fashion show went ahead to mark a one year countdown to the postponed Summer Games. From a prosthetic leg with LED lights to another shaped like a machine gun, the show featured a variety of designs. Among the models was also Kaede Maegawa, Japanese Paralympic athlete who finished fourth in the women's long jump at the Paralympic Games held in Rio de Janeiro in 2016.
