Tourism Minister of Kerala inaugurated the Vagbhatananda park in Onchiyam on Tuesday, sharing images of the construction on social media. Constructed in the memory of Vagbhatananda, a popular renaissance leader, images of the park have impressed people on social media with many comparing it to European cities. The park's modern design features an open stage, badminton court, open gymnasium, and children’s park. A great example of public space design, the park has wheelchair-friendly pathways and tactile tiles to assist people with visual impairment.
