Dozens of Palestinians protested on Wednesday in West Bank's town of Bethlehem, rejecting US President Donald Trump's plan to end the Mideast conflict. Israeli troops were seen firing tear gas at Palestinian protesters, who burnt a US flag. Demonstrators also gathered in front of the US Consulate in Istanbul against Trump's Mideast peace plan.
Trump's new peace plan would grant them limited autonomy in parts of the Middle East while allowing Israel to annex its West Bank settlements and keep nearly all of east Jerusalem. Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas dismissed the plan as 'nonsense' , while Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called it a "historic breakthrough".
