Relief for Prime Minister Imran Khan's govt, Pakistan's Supreme Court on Thursday granted a six-month conditional extension to Army chief Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa. A three-member bench of the apex court, headed by Chief Justice Asif Khosa had directed the government to bring necessary legislation within six months' time. Bajwa's original three-year tenure is set to expire on Thursday at midnight and he can now continue as the Army chief for another six months. Reacting to the order, Pak PM Imran Khan tweeted, that it must be a great disappointment for those who expected the country to be destabilised by a clash of institutions and the fact that it did not happen must be of special disappointment to our external enemies & mafias within.
