Starting from the 1st of August, devotees heading to the Shree Jagannath temple in Puri, Odisha will have to bear a new rule in mind. The temple administration has banned the consumption of betel leaves, gutkha and tobacco inside the 12th century temple premises. A 500 rupee fine will be levied on offenders of the rule that has been implemented to ensure cleanliness inside around the holy shrine.
