Mumbai and New Delhi, are the only two Indian cities that made an appearance on the Safe Cities Index 2019, a report from The Economist Intelligence Unit, sponsored by NEC Corporation. The index ranks 60 cities based on indicators like digital security and personal security along with health and infrastructure. Mumbai ranked 45 while New Delhi is at 52. Dhaka and Karachi are close behind, at 56 and 57 respectively. Tokyo and Singapore occupied the top two spots, while Osaka and Amsterdam are on number three and four.
