Known as one of the greatest Indian filmmakers, Mani Ratnam has time and again proved his mettle, be it in Hindi, Tamil or Malayalam cinema. On his 64th birthday, a look at his top five movies to watch if you're quarantining at home. 'Dil Se' Starring Shah Rukh Khan, Manisha Koirala, and Preity Zinta in the lead Mani Ratnam's 'Dil Se' bagged two National Film Awards and six Filmfare Awards. 'Saathiya' Featuring Vivek Oberoi and Rani Mukerji film 'Saathiya' touched our hearts not just with the story but also with the music. 'Yuva' 2004 film 'Yuva' based on students in politics starring Abhishek Bachchan and Ajay Devgn did commendable business in India and raked in ₹173.5 million at the Indian box office. The film also won six Filmfare awards. 'Guru' Featuring Abhishek Bachchan & Aishwarya Rai Bachchan the 2007 film 'Guru' was reportedly based on Dhirubhai Ambani's life. Made with a budget of just ₹18 crores, the film grossed over ₹80 crores across the world & was declared a blockbuster. 'Roja' 'Roja' a patriotic love story, starred Aravind Swamy and Madhoo & revolves around the life of a woman from a village in Tamil Nadu who marries a sophisticated city dweller and moves with him to Kashmir where he gets kidnapped by militants. The film won several accolades & marked the debut of popular composer AR Rahman who won the National Award for his marvelous compositions.
