The Bihar govt has made rather startling revelations about the fodder scam in the state assembly. The state's finance minister Sushil Modi has claimed that 49,950 litres of mustard oil worth Rs 16 lakh was bought between 1990 to 1996 for polishing horns of buffaloes. He also told the assembly that bills produced by then Bihar govt for purchase of almond oil cakes showed that the quantity bought was 33 times more than what was required. Lalu Prasad Yadav, under whose chief ministership the fodder scam took place, is serving a 14-y jail sentence for one of the cases.
