After earlier denying host broadcaster Star's request of pushing the IPL 2020 final on the Diwali weekend, it seems like BCCI is finally convinced of reversing their decision. According to a report in the Times of India, BCCI might discuss the shifting of the dates to accommodate the Diwali weekend in Sunday's IPL Governing Council meeting. According to Star, the broadcaster can earn major revenue on the Diwali weekend and make up for the losses due to the earlier postponement of the league. The change in dates might have a serious repercussion as Team India's departure to Australia for the tour might get affected. Instead of coming back home, the members will have to fly from UAE to Australia in order to make up for the lost time.
