The Uttar Pradesh police has come up with a new hack to curb violence against women in the state. An AI-powered facial recognition camera, which will know when a woman is in distress.
The Lucknow police is installing these AI-based cameras at 200 hotspots across the city, especially areas from where more complaints have been received.
According a Times of India report, facial expression of women changes when they are under threat. These AI cameras can detect that change and alert the nearest police station.
A confident Lucknow Police Commissioner said, "before she takes out her phone to dial 100 or 112, an alert will reach the police."
