'No pro-farm law events': Amit Shah advises Haryana govt

Jan 14, 2021 07:21 IST

Days after CM ML Khattar was forced to cancel a meeting at a village near Karnal as protesting farmers clashed with police, home minister Amit Shah has advised the Haryana government to not hold pro-farm law events in the state until further notice. State Education Minister Kanwar Pal Gujjar on Wednesday said that the govt doesn't want any confrontation with the farmers and hence the home minister has advised against govt outreach programmes. On Sunday, the protesting farmers vandalised Khattar's meeting venue and forced the CM to return without landing at the helipad. Khattar and his deputy Dushyant Chautala had met Amit Shah on Tuesday to discuss the state's law and order situation.
