'No PM-Trump call': India rejects US President's claim

May 29, 2020 10:32 IST

India on Friday rejected US president Donald Trump's claim that he spoke with PM Modi on the India-China border standoff. Hours after Trump said he had spoken to PM Modi and he “is not in a good mood on what is going on in China”, top government sources said there has been no recent contact between the two leaders, news agency ANI reported. Last conversation between them was on 4 April, 2020 on subject of Hydroxychloroquine, ANI reported quoting sources. The MEA on Thursday had also made it clear that India is directly in touch with China through established mechanisms & diplomatic contacts rejecting Trump's mediation offer.
