No more camping trips to Spiti's Chandratal Lake

If you were planning a camping trip near the magnificent Chandratal Lake in Himachal's Spiti Valley, then this news will disappoint you. The local Panchayat of Spiti Valley has banned camping near the lake after facing problems of overtourism. Chandratal Lake has become a tourist-favourite camping spot and people often dump garbage around the water body. This practice has now become a danger to the environment and wild animals in the region that is situated 4,300 meters above sea level.
