After Bangladesh foreign minister AK Abdul Momen cancelled his visit to India, Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Raveesh Kumar said the Bangladesh FM has explained the reasons behind why he had to cancel the visit. He added that no bill will affect the strong bilateral ties that the two nations share. "No bill will affect the strong relations between India and Bangladesh. We have spelt out clearly that the persecuted migrants who came to India were during the military regime and previous governments. The present govt in Bangladesh has done a lot for its minorities," he said.
