A UK court is expected to deliver verdict in the extradition case of fallen diamond tycoon Nirav Modi in December this year. The Westminster Magistrates Court in London on Thursday agreed the timetable for the second leg of extradition trial between September 7 and 11. During September hearings arguments on establishing a prima facie case against Nirav, an accused in over ₹9000 crore Punjab National Bank fraud case, and also deal with India’s extradition request which has been backed by UK Home Secretary Priti Patel. Additional hearings have also been scheduled for November 3, and December 1, when both sides will make their final submissions. Therefore, any judgment in the case is now expected only after the final hearing in December.
