The Nikhil Bodo Students’ Union organized the 65th birth anniversary of the former president of All Bodo Students’ Union (ABSU), Upendra Nath Brahma on Tuesday at Dotma, Tulungapuri at his memorial in Kokrajhar.
The day is also celebrated as Students’ Day across the region.
Chief Executive Member of the BTC Pramod Boro, ABSU President Dipen Boro, and several leaders were present during the ceremony. They paid tribute to the former ABSU president Upendra Nath Brahma.
The BTC government on the occasion of the Birth Anniversary of Bodofa Upendra Nath Brahma declared local holiday on 31 March.
Speaking to the media Pramod Boro said, “This day is also celebrated as students’ day across the region. BTC government on the occasion of Birth Anniversary of Bodofa Upendra Nath Brahma declared holiday today.”
Upendra Nath Brahma was an Indian Bodo social activist and the former president of All Bodo Students’ Union (ABSU). He is popularly known as ‘Bodofa’ (the father of all Bodos), who is credited for having started the Bodoland Movement.
