Residents of Brooklyn in New York were forced to call the police after a funeral home overwhelmed by coronavirus deaths resorted to storing dozens of bodies on ice in rented trucks. Investigators found that the funeral home had rented four trucks to hold about 50 corpses but was unable to contain the odour. No charges were brought against them. The home later rented a larger refrigerated truck. 18,000 people have died in New York City since late March.
