NDRF now training Indian breed dogs for dog squad, street dogs next

Oct 30, 2020 12:23 IST

The National Disaster Response Force has begun the training of Indian breed dogs for its dog squad as part of the nation's push towards an Atmanirbhar Bharat.

The force is currently training 3 desi dogs and says the training is going well so far. An officer told news agency ANI that desis have more vigour than foreign dogs and they also take more agility.

Next on the force's agenda is the training and rehabilitation of street dogs, who will then help NDRF in search and rescue missions.
