India celebrates National Doctors Day on the 1st of July to thank medical professionals for their tireless effort and undying spirit. Marked by the Indian Medical Association, the day is commemorated in the memory of Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy, a former Chief Minister of West Bengal and a well-known physician. This year has been dedicated to the numerous doctors, health-care workers and nurses serving the country amid the pandemic with the aim to 'lessen the mortality of Covid-19'. It is also dedicated to Covid-19 care hospitals and secondary care setups in the country.
