NADA might outsource sample collection for IPL 2020

Jul 30, 2020 12:40 IST

Given the high cost of handling the dope control exercise at the 13th edition of the IPL, the National Anti-Doping Agency might have to outsource the task of sample collection for the very first time. Sweden’s International Dope Test and Management has done sample collection and testing for the last 12 seasons of the IPL but NADA may have to use the services of UAE’s National Anti-Doping Organisation this time around. A senior BCCI official told PTI that once they send the approved schedule to NADA, it will be the agency's call as they will have to bear the cost of sample collection and transportation. BCCI came under NADA’s ambit from the third quarter of 2019 and this year will be the first time that the agency will handle sample collection during the IPL.
