Kings XI Punjab. A team which has been star-studded since the day IPL started, always ready to spring a surprise but mostly turned out to be underachievers. Their best showing was in 2014 when Kings XI reached the final but couldn't cross the final hurdle. But with captaincy duties now falling in the hands of a young and promising KL Rahul, Punjab looks a completely different unit all together. Apart from Rahul and Caribbean powerhouse Chris Gayle at the top, Kings XI are packed with some explosive middle-order batsmen. With the likes of Mayank Agarwal, Nicholas Pooran, Glenn Maxwell, Jimmy Neesham, Deepak Hooda and Sarfaraz Khan, Punjab is capable of decimating any bowling attack on their day. Though the men from the North have failed to qualify for the playoffs for 5 consecutive years now, with a formidable unit on paper, Kings XI Punjab may just break that jinx this time around.
