Myanmar's military junta intensified the airstrike attacks in eastern Myanmar on Tuesday, which had earlier forced thousands of ethnic Karens to flee to neighboring Thailand. Tuesday's air raids in eastern Myanmar killed 6 civilians and wounded 11, informed Karen National Union's foreign affairs department. The KNU is the main political body that represents the minority, Karen. KNU officials who sought a response from the military junta said that the recent airstrikes were the latest case of Myanmar's military breaking a cease-fire agreement. Meanwhile, Thailand's PM Prayut Chanocha said that the villagers who fled weekend airstrikes returned home of their own accord, and went to deny that his country's security forces had sent them back.
