Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat on Thursday highlighted the need for reforms and transformation in the country's armed forces at various levels to tackle the 'complex security & challenging environment'. He said that the Indian military faces greater challenges than any other military in the world and hence it needs to study transformation concepts adopted in other countries carefully to cater to the spectrum of warfare. Touching upon the border dispute with the two neighbouring countries, the CDS said that India's military primarily faces threat from China and Pakistan and it must prepare for it. He added that China will continue to assert itself seeking to establish dominance in states surrounding India.
