Mumbai's new Covid rules: food delivery 24X7, exemptions for students, maids

Even as restrictions are tightened across Maharashtra and a weekend lockdown, the BMC in an order has permitted movement of maids, online service providers.

Students or candidates who have to attend various exams, including competitive exams are allowed to move, their exam Hall Tickets will be considered valid.

All online home deliveries of food and essential supplies through online service providers like Zomato, Swiggy are allowed 24 hours on all days in the week. During the weekend lockdown, takeaways from hotels are not allowed in person, but home deliveries will be allowed. Roadside food stalls including fruit stalls can only provide parcels or takeaway services.

Movement of maids, cooks, drivers, househelp, nurses and medical attendees providing services to senior citiziens and ailing people at home is allowed between 7 am to 10 pm on all days.

Called ‘Break the Chain Restrictions’, these curbs by the Maharashtra govt will remain in place till April 30.
