Multiplex Association, filmmakers request govt to reopen theatres

After the Home Ministry issued guidelines for Unlock 4, leading members of the film fraternity including Boney Kapoor, Shibasish Sarkar, Reliance Entertainment’s CEO Karthik Subbaraj, and Multiplex Association of India have requested the centre to consider reopening theaters.

The Theatre owner's association in a series of tweets asked the government to open cinema halls and give them a chance to function, given that aviation, metro, malls, wellness and restaurants have already been allowed to operate.
