Amid all the gloom, here's a story of hope. After doctors in Hong Kong told Covid-19 patient Catherine Kosasih to dump her pumped breastmilk because the medication she was taking to treat the virus could be passed to her baby, she contacted a social media support group for help. Since her youngest was allergic to formula, there was no way to feed her and the group posted an SOS call for donations online. Within hours, scores of mothers came together to offer what they could, and within a day more than 15 litres - enough to feed the baby for around two weeks - had been pledged. Catherine spent two weeks in the hospital battling the virus.
