Admitting that the crisis with China was most serious situation since the 1962 war, External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar has told newsportal Rediff that diplomacy is important to resolve the continuing border crisis. Jaishankar while acknowledging the seriousness of the current crisis, said the earlier stand-offs- in Depsang, Chumar and Doklam were resolved by diplomacy. He added that India is ‘talking to the Chinese, both through military channels and diplomatic ones’. He however said that China must agree to honour all agreements and not attempt to alter the situation unilaterally. He also emphasised on doing everything to secure the borders.
