'Mosquito Terminator' train flagged off from New Delhi Railway Station

A special mosquito terminator train was flagged off from the New Delhi Railway Station on Friday.

Jointly flagged by the Northern Railway and the South Delhi Municipal Corporation, the objective is to spray insecticide on both sides of the tracks to prevent the growth of larvae and control vector-borne diseases.

A truck placed over the train will spray insecticide, covering an area within the 50-60 metre range on either sides of the rail tracks. The move will also provide relief to a number of families, living in clusters along the tracks.

Insecticides will be sprayed for 10 days between the 30th of August and 20th of October and will cover areas like Hazrat Niazamuddin, Lajpat Nagar, Lodi Colony, Delhi Safdarjang, Patel Nagar among others.
