More women sue Lyft over insufficient response to sexual assault

Dec 05, 2019 14:57 IST

A group of twenty women has filed a lawsuit against American ride-sharing service Lyft, alleging they were sexually assaulted or raped by Lyft drivers. The suit is in addition to a previous one filed in September, where fourteen unnamed women accused the company of not doing enough to protect female passengers using the service. The new lawsuit alleges that Lyft was aware of sexual predators operating it's service, but did little to address the problem, and instead hid the extent of sexual assault issues. Lyft has not stated how it will fight the lawsuit, but has issued a statement of how it will attempt to improve the safety of female passengers.
