Microsoft to miss sales forecast due to COVID-19 outbreak

Microsoft is the latest major tech company to warn of a disruption as China grapples with the coronavirus outbreak. The tech giant said because its Chinese suppliers were shutdown, manufacturing operations have been affected. Microsoft said that it would miss the third quarter guidance it set out earlier this year for its personal computing segment, which includes money it makes from licensing Windows and selling Surface devices. The Microsoft announcement comes amid a growing problem for tech firms that rely on a complex network of suppliers in China for real-time deliveries of crucial parts.
