A new study conducted by scientists at the Austrian Environment Agency reveals that we have microplastics inside our body thanks to the food we consume. The study involved analysing stool samples from people across 8 countries in the world. The presence of microplastic in the human gut can lead to dangerous illness and infections, the impacts of which have not been studied yet. Approximately 20 microplastic particles were discovered per 10g of human waste, which is an alarming number.
