Former First Lady of the United States, Michelle Obama attended Sesame Street Workshop's 17th annual gala on Wednesday night, which celebrated 50 years of the iconic kid's TV show. At the gala, the Joan Ganz Cooney Award was bestowed upon her, for her work towards helping children around the world. She gave a heart-warming tribute to the show, which she said, was part of her childhood as well. The benefit raised over $4.5 million, for the non-profit media and educational organization- the Sesame Workshop, which, just like the show aims to help kids everywhere grow smarter, stronger, and kinder.
