The second Eid to be celebrated amid the Covid-19 pandemic, devotees across the country marked Bakrid or Eid al-Adha wearing face coverings and by offering socially distanced namaz. Thousands of people gathered at New Delhi's Jama Masjid to mark the occasion on Saturday. However, celebrations were sprinkled with precautionary measures in view of the growing number of cases of the novel coronavirus. People wore face masks, followed social distance and mosques checked the temperature of each devotee before allowing entry. In many places, people were asked to stay at home to mark the festival this year. PM Narendra Modi also shared his greetings with the nation on Twitter writing, 'Eid Mubarak... May this day inspire us to create a just, harmonious and inclusive society.'
