Latin America struggles to contain the coronavirus outbreak, as the death toll continues to rise across Mexico. Mexico has now crossed UK to become the nation with the third-highest Covid-19 death toll. Mexico is behind Brazil, and the United States in the global tally. More than 91,000 people have died in Brazil, and the U.S. death toll has topped 1.5 lakh. Mexico on Friday recorded 688 deaths to bring its toll to 46,688, with over 4.2 lakh confirmed cases. The United Kingdom has recorded 46,204 deaths, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University. US' daily death toll dipped in comparison to the data published by Johns Hopkins but this is the fourth day in a row the country has reported more than 1,200 deaths.
