The weather gods might play spoilsport as the local met department has issued a light rain warning in Birmingham on day 1 of the 1st Ashes Test. Edgbaston ground staff battled heavy rain ahead of the 1st Test, but according to the met department, there will be a mixture of sunny spells and scattered showers on day 1. Though the forecast for the next 3 days is currently dry, there's a risk of some early morning fog patches.
