RCB chased down the target of 114 with three balls to spare, much to the disappointment of the weekend crowd that turned out to support the home team. Richa Ghosh hit the winning runs for Bangalore but the chase was spearheaded by seniors Sophie Devine (32), Smriti Mandhana (31) and Ellyse Perry (35).&nbsp;
With Shafali Verma (44 off 27 balls) going great guns, DC were cruising at 64 for no loss in 43 balls before they committed harakiri, losing 10 wickets for just 49 runs.
Spinners Shreyanka Patil (4/12) and Sophie Molineux (3/20) helped RCB stage a remarkable recovery after Shafali's exploits at the top of the order.

This moment in time comes sixteen years after the men's Bangalore team was conceptualised and created for the IPL in 2008. Since then, three lost finals and several broken hearts later, Mandhana's team seemed to be trodding down the same path. A dismal inaugural season saw the women finish 4th with just 2 wins from eight outings. It was a debut season akin to their male counterparts' 2008 opening year. RCB Men too had finished second to last, grabbing a mere 4 wins out of 10 games. Immediately, comparisons were drawn up, conclusions were written. The women's team and its star power amounted to nothing, just like the men. But there was a woman on a mission, Smriti Mandhana led the charge to script a historic turnaround for Bangalore come 2024. From Asha Shobana's spin mastery to Shreyanka Patil's purple cap and of course, the evergreen Ellyse Perry, with her iconic 6-wicket haul and her orange cap, each of them played their role to the tee, led by Mandhana, who capped off her season with over 250 runs to her name. Delhi Capitals lost the plot against Royal Challengers Bangalore spinners after a flying start, crumbling like a pack of cards to be bowled out for 113 in the Women's Premier League final in Delhi on Sunday.
DC were cruising at 64 for no loss in 43 balls before they committed harakiri, losing 10 wickets for just 49 runs in front of a 28,781 capacity crowd, who looked divided in their loyalties.
Australia's left-arm spinner Sophie Molineux (3/20) started DC's downfall, picking up three wickets in the eighth over.
Thereafter, the hosts never really recovered, losing wickets at regular intervals, courtesy some loose shots and off-spinner Shreyanka Patil's (4/12) exploits in the middle and late overs hastened their end.
Opting to bat, DC skipper Meg Lanning (23 off 23) and Shafali Verma (44 off 27) looked in a different world as they upped the tempo in a linear fashion.
Lanning, the second highest run-getter in the tournament, played the second fiddle as Shafali went hammer and tongs after a slow start in the first 11 balls.
Shafali was particularly destructive straight down the ground as she slammed her first three sixes in that region. She opened up her arms in the final delivery of the second over when she went down on her knee to dispatch Molineux over long on for the first six of the innings.
The right-arm fast bowler Renuka Singh was taken to task in the fourth over, which yielded 19 runs.
Shafali started the onslaught clobbering the bowler over her head for a six, which eventually inspired Lanning.
Lanning then struck two boundaries off the last two deliveries of the same over to match her partner.
Ellyse Perry also bore the brunt of Shafali's wrath as the Australian all-rounder was hit over for a maximum and then a boundary as DC reached 52 in five overs.
The DC openers continued their attacking game and hit Sophie Devine for a boundary each in the next over to take the home team forward.
But RCB managed to put brakes on DC when Molineux scalped three wickets in the eighth over, dismissing Shafali, Jemmimah Rodrigues and Alice Capsey, the last two wickets even put her in the line for a hat-trick which eventually didn't happen.
After reaching 72 for 3 at the halfway mark, DC's mainstay Lanning, who was trying to resurrect the innings, departed, trapped leg before Shreyanka but not after she wasted a review.
Thereafter, the home team kept losing wickets in search of unnecessary big shots to stumble to 81 for six.
It was mayhem for DC as they lost seven wickets for mere 23 runs in that period.

Nadeem recently said he has been struggling to acquire an international-standard javelin for several years and expressed his frustration about that.

Star Indian athlete Neeraj Chopra expressed astonishment that his rival from across the border Arshad Nadeem is struggling to get a new javelin, given his standing in the world of athletics.
Pakistan's ace javelin exponent Nadeem had won the 2022 Commonwealth Games gold in Birmingham with a massive 90.18m throw. He had bagged the bronze medal at the 2018 Jakarta Asian Games where Chopra had clinched the top spot.
While Chopra, the Olympic and world champion, and Nadeem are fierce competitors on the field, they are known for their camaraderie off the pitch.
"It is hard to believe that he has been struggling to get a new javelin. Given his credentials, this should not be a big issue at all," Chopra told SAI Media on Monday.
Nadeem recently said he has been struggling to acquire an international-standard javelin for several years and expressed his frustration about that.
"It has now got to a stage where the javelin is damaged and I have asked the national federation and my coach to do something about it before the Paris Olympics," Nadeem had said recently.
"When I started off in 2015, competing in international events I got this javelin &hellip; for an international athlete aiming to win a medal in the Olympic Games, you need proper equipment and training facilities," Nadeem added.
Chopra said Nadeem should get all the support from the Pakistan government.
"It can't be that he (Nadeem) doesn't have the means to buy a javelin. He is a champion and must be doing some brand endorsements. I reckon he has earned a bit of money too.
"But having said that, his government can look at Arshad's (Nadeem) need and support him just like how my government is doing so," said Chopra, who is supported by the government's Target Olympics Podium Scheme (TOPS).
"Additionally, Arshad Nadeem is a top javelin thrower and I believe that the javelin makers will be more than happy to sponsor him and provide what he wants. This is a piece of advice from my side," said Chopra.
Nadeem had undergone an elbow operation in the UK in December 2022. Last year, he again underwent a knee surgery and skipped the Hangzhou Asian Games, where Chopra won the gold.

A key to their hopes will a fit-again KL Rahul, who missed over half of IPL 2023 after being ruled out mid-way through the season due to a hamstring injury.

However, LSG delt a blow before the season as their pace spearhead Mark Wood was pulled out the season by ECB to manage his workload. He was replaced by West Indies young sensation Shamar Joseph.
Wood's absence is not likely to affect Lucknow much, given that they have a super pace battery. Apart from Joseph, Yash Thakur, Mohsin Khan, Naveen-ul-Haq, Mayank Yadav, Yudhvir Singh and newly bought Shivam Mavi are capable of dominating opponents on their day.
STRENGTHS
LSG's biggest strength apart from KL Rahul at the top will once again be their fiery all-rounder. While Marcus Stoinis has been a constant since two years, Nicholas Pooran lit up the IPL in the last season. He has now also been given the vice-captain's responsibility.
Add to that Devdutt Padikkal, whom LSG traded from Rajasthan Royals ahead of the IPL Auction, will add more strength to their batting unit.
WEAKNESSES
Deepak Hooda and Krunal Pandya not living up to their hype cost LSG big time in the last season. Young Ayush Badoni also throwing away his wicket on several occasions didn't help their cause. The 3 Indian stars are crucial cogs in the wheel and need to come good in order to have a strong season.

Lucknow Super Giants skipper KL Rahul is all set to play for his franchise from the opening IPL game after getting all clear from the National Cricket Academy but he has been advised against wicket-keeping in the first few games.

Rahul posted a short video of his batting, basic keeping drills and outfield practice at the NCA.
"The NCA has given him clearance and he will join his mates in Lucknow on Thursday (March 20) before they travel to Jaipur for the opening game against Rajasthan Royals on March 24. It is understood that he has been told to avoid squatting initially and he can don the big gloves in coming days. For first few games, he will only play as pure batter," a BCCI source tracking the developments of LSG told PTI on conditions of anonymity.
It is understood that even the franchise isn't losing its sleep over Rahul's keeping as they have two quality short-format glovesmen in former Proteas star Quinton de Kock and West Indies' Nicholas Pooran, who is also vice-captain for this season.
However, for Rahul, keeping will be an important aspect of his game if he has to stake claim for a spot in the Indian squad for the T20 World Cup in the USA and West Indies in June.
"Rahul will not be considered for a top-three slot in the Indian T20 team considering his previous performances. He can be that keeper-batter at Nos 5 or 6 if he has a decent IPL. But if he plays purely as a batter, you have a far better option in Rinku Singh, apart from Rishabh Pant, who might just stake a claim with some power-packed performances," a BCCI source privy to developments, said.

Earlier this month, the ad-hoc panel organised the trials to select the teams for the Asian Championships and the Asian Olympic Qualifiers in Kyrgyzstan to be held next month.

The Indian Olympic Association on Monday dissolved the ad-hoc committee for wrestling, saying "there is no further need" for it to continue after the revocation of the suspension on the national federation, which now gets complete administrative control of the sport.
The IOA said that the decision was also guided by the successful conduct of the selection trials for next month's Olympic qualifying tournament for which the panel collaborated with the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI).
The ad-hoc committee was formed in December last year after the sports ministry suspended the WFI, which got a shot in the arm when the suspension imposed on it by the global governing body -- United World Wrestling -- was lifted in February.
"The decision to dissolve the Adhoc Committee comes in light of the lifting of the ban on the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) by the United World Wrestling (UWW) and the successful completion of Selection Trials by the Adhoc Committee appointed by the IOA as per the directives of the Hon'ble High Court of Delhi," said the IOA order issued on March 10.
WFI chief Sanjay Singh thanked the Indian Olympic Association for giving his elected panel control of the national federation.
"We thank IOA for giving us full-fledged control of the WFI. We will give all the facilities to the wrestlers. We will soon organise a national camp and if the wrestlers want to train abroad we will facilitate that as well. The focus is now on the Olympics. We are hoping that 5-6 wrestlers will qualify," Singh told PTI.
The three-member committee, under the chairmanship of Bhupender Singh Bajwa, was constituted on December 23 after the newly-elected WFI, led by Sanjay Singh, had allegedly flouted its own rules.
Earlier this month, the ad-hoc panel organised the trials to select the teams for the Asian Championships and the Asian Olympic Qualifiers in Kyrgyzstan to be held next month.
The protesting duo of Vinesh Phogat and Bajrang Punia competed in the trials and the former cut Olympic qualifiers in the 50kg category.
Following the successful completion of the trials, the reins of the sport have now been formally handed over to WFI despite the continuing suspension imposed by the sports ministry.
The IOA instructed WFI to appoint a "Safeguarding Committee" to address concerns of sexual harassment and other issues such as adherence to rules.
"...as instructed by the UWW, it is imperative that the WFI appoint a Safeguarding Committee / Officer at the earliest to address the concerns of abuse and harassment and to ensure adherence to all rules, regulations, and guidelines set forth by the UWW and other relevant authorities," the IOA letter added.
"Furthermore, the WFI is also directed to conduct the elections of the Athletes Commission in a time-bound manner, in accordance with the established procedures and guidelines.
"This step is essential to promote athlete representation and participation in the decision-making processes of the WFI." The order also instructed the WFI to "repay the loan" provided by the IOA to the ad-hoc panel for managing wrestling affairs when the national body was under suspension.
"The day I won elections, you know that it was a crown of thorns for me. Despite limitations, we tried everything, whether it was organising the Nationals (in Pune), or providing officials and referees to the ad-hoc panel for the recent trials after (the Delhi High Court) court stopped us from organising trials (in New Delhi). I am sure that it is the end of the struggle for us," added Sanjay Singh.
A source close to the developments said he was "surprised" by the IOA's move to dissolve the ad-hoc panel.
"The Sports Ministry had suspended the WFI in December last year and it hasn't yet issued orders for revoking the suspension. Besides, the case is sub-judice, so it's surprising why ad-hoc panel was dissolved by the IOA," he said.&nbsp;
