Melbourne Test: India end day 2 in command

Dec 27, 2018 13:35 IST

It was an eventful day 2 for India as the visitors took off from where they had left off overnight. Cheteshwar Pujara's memorable Australia tour continued as he notched up his second hundred of the series. Virat too scored a solid 82 but missed out on a ton. Both departed within a span of 6 runs and Rahane too fell for 34. But Rohit Sharma with an unbeaten 63 made sure the visitors declared their 1st innings in command at 443/7. Kohli was hopeful of a wicket before stumps but that didn't happen. Aussie openers saw of 6 overs to end day 2 at 8/0. India leading by 435 runs.
