Meet Stripe: The $95 billion unicorn

After tripling its value in less than a year Stripe Inc at $95 bn is the most valuable start up in Silicon Valley.

So what is Stripe? Set up just a decade ago in 2010, Stripe is an online payment processing company set up by two Irish brothers Patrick (32) and John (30) Collison .

Despite having tough competition with the likes of Paypal, Square et al Stripe has added marquee names such as Amazon, Salesforce, Google, Lyft to it’s customer base.

Stripe is dual-headquartered in San Francisco and Dublin with 14 offices globally and  operations spread over 43 countries.

Even though Stripe is the most valuable US based unicorn, on a global scale, the company trails ByteDance, the Chinese parent of TikTok, which was last valued at $180 billion in December.
