Pandya-Natarajan seal the T20 series for Team India

Dec 06, 2020 17:15 IST

After electing to bowl first, Virat Kohli's men toiled hard for success as stand-in skipper Matthew Wade smashed 58 off 32 balls to set up the stage for a big total. Steve Smith then chipped in with a useful 46 off 38 balls as Australia looked set to breach the 200 barrier. Team India clawed their way back into the game riding on some good bowling by young T Natarajan who finished with 2 wickets for just 20 runs from his 4 overs. Rest of the bowlers were made to look ordinary by Australia as they posted 194/5 from 20 overs. Dhawan and Rahul gave India a bright start with 60 coming from the first powerplay. While Dhawan cracked a fluent 36 ball 52, KL Rahul fell for 30. Virat Kohli then changed gears for Team India and scored 40 off 24 balls. With 72 needed from last 6 overs, Hardik Pandya stepped up and along with Shreyas Iyer took the team past the finish line with 2 balls to go. Pandya smashed 42* off 22 balls with 2 consecutive sixes in the final over.
