With the future of the World T20 still not clear, Marylebone Cricket Club President Kumar Sangakkara feels that the event might even be cancelled this year. During a show on Star Sports, Sangakkara said that every day, there are new learnings about Covid-19, so we will have to wait and see, but the options may be to cancel the World T20 this year and postpone it to another year. He added that anticipatory procedures have to be put in place that takes into account the health and safety of both players and spectators. ICC is expected to soon decide the fate of the Marquee event which is currently scheduled in Australia from October.
