U.S. oil stockpiles increased by 1.6 million barrels last week, according to government data, more than the 1.2 million barrel increase predicted by experts surveyed by Reuters, adding to the bearishness in the market.
Falling crude &amp; Impact on India&nbsp; India imports nearly 85% of its crude requirements. A fall in crude prices also reduces inflationary pressures on India and will have an impact on both retail and wholesale inflation.&nbsp; Companies like BPCL, HPCL and Indian Oil shares saw a spike in prices after Brent crude fell below the $75 per barrel mark.&nbsp; "As international oil prices cool, marketing losses will ease for the three state-owned refining and marketing companies, IOC, BPCL and HPCL,&rdquo; ratings agency Moody&rsquo;s said.

Among other shareholders, Alpha TC Holdings Pte plans to sell up to 97.16 lakh shares (2.40 per cent) and Tata Capital Growth Fund I would offload up to 48.58 lakh equity shares (1.20 per cent).

The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation seized the assets of Silicon Valley Bank on Friday, marking the largest bank failure since Washington Mutual during the height of the 2008 financial crisis.
The bank failed after depositors &mdash; mostly technology workers and venture capital-backed companies &mdash; began withdrawing their money creating a run on the bank.
Silicon Valley was heavily exposed to tech industry and there is little chance of contagion in the banking sector as there was in the months leading up to the Great Recession more than a decade ago. Major banks have sufficient capital to avoid a similar situation.
The FDIC ordered the closure of Silicon Valley Bank and immediately took position of all deposits at the bank Friday. The bank had USD 209 billion in assets and USD 175.4 billion in deposits as the time of failure, the FDIC said in a statement. It was unclear how much of deposits was above the USD 250,000 insurance limit at the moment.
Notably, the FDIC did not announce a buyer of Silicon Valley's assets, which is typically when there's an orderly wind down of a bank. The FDIC also seized the bank's assets in the middle of the business day, a sign of how dire the situation had become.

Among Sensex shares, HDFC Bank fell the most by 2.58 per cent, followed by SBI (2.12 per cent), HDFC (2.09 per cent), and IndusInd Bank (2.02 per cent).
Axis Bank, Bajaj Finserv, M&amp;M, L&amp;T, Reliance, Infosys and TCS were among the major losers.
In contrast, Tata Motors, Maruti, NTPC, Sun Pharma, Power Grid and Titan were among the gainers.
Heavy selling in financial, banking, IT and capital goods shares triggered by weak Asian markets and overnight losses in the US market dragged down the benchmark indices, analysts said.

On the other hand, Tata Steel, L&amp;T, Axis Bank, Bharti Airtel and HDFC Bank were among the gainers.
Sector-wise, BSE Auto and Consumer Durable witnessed intense selling during the session.
In the broader markets, the BSE midcap fell 0.55 per cent and the small-cap slipped 0.20 per cent.
Bourses in Hong Kong, Shanghai and Seoul settled in the red while Tokyo closed with gains.
Equities in Europe were also trading with significant losses in mid-session deals. Equities on Wall Street closed mixed in the overnight session.
The rupee fell 7 paise to close at 82.02 (provisional) against the US dollar on Thursday Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) were net buyers in the capital markets on Wednesday as they purchased shares worth Rs 3,671.56 crore, according to exchange data.
Meanwhile, international oil benchmark Brent crude slipped 0.01 per cent to USD 82.65 per barrel.

From the Sensex pack, State Bank of India, Bharti Airtel, Reliance Industries, ITC, Tata Steel, IndusInd Bank, HDFC Bank, Tata Motors, HDFC and Titan were the major gainers.
Tech Mahindra, UltraTech Cement, Nestle and Asian Paints were the laggards.
In Asian markets, Seoul, Japan, China and Hong Kong ended in the green.

Adani group stocks shot up on Friday, after the promoters sold shares worth Rs 15,446 crore ($1.8 billion) in four of its listed entities. The buyer was GQG Partners, which is a U.S based global equity-investment boutique firm.&nbsp;
GQG partners bought shares worth Rs 5,460 crore in Adani enterprises, Rs 5,282 crore in Adani ports, Rs 2,806 crore in Adani Green and Rs 1,898 crore in Adani transmission.&nbsp; &nbsp;
The proceeds from the share sale will be used by promoters for reducing debt and other purposes.&nbsp; Jugeshinder Singh, Group CFO of Adani Group, said: &ldquo;We are delighted to complete this landmark transaction with GQG. We value GQG&rsquo;s role as a strategic investor in our infrastructure and utility portfolio of sustainable energy, logistics and energy Transition. This transaction marks the continued confidence of global investors in the governance, management practices and the growth of Adani Portfolio of companies.&rdquo; Since January 24th, when the Hindenburg research was released, Adani group has been battling the repurcissions of the allegations made by the report. The report accused Adani group of stock price manupulation and accounting fraud, allegations which the Adani group has strongly denied.&nbsp; Meanwhile, the Hindenburg-Adani row reached the top court. And on Thursday, the Supreme Court ordered capital markets regulator SEBI to conduct a thorough probe and complete the investigation within two months. The top court also appointed an expert committee to oversee the investigation and also to look into if there was any kind of regulatory failure or if mechanisms needs to be strengthened to protect investors.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Among the Sensex stocks, Reliance Industries climbed the most by 3.11 per cent. Bajaj Finance, Titan, Axis Bank, ICICI Bank, Bajaj Finserv, IndusInd Bank, UltraTech Cement, Larsen &amp; Toubro, HDFC Bank, HDFC and Kotak Mahindra Bank were among the other major winners.
Power Grid, Hindustan Unilever, Tech Mahindra, Tata Consultancy Services, Infosys and Asian Paints were among the biggest laggards.
In Asia, Seoul, Hong Kong and Shanghai markets ended higher.
European markets were trading in the green during afternoon trade. The US markets ended in positive territory on Monday.
Meanwhile, global oil benchmark Brent crude climbed 0.65 per cent to USD 74.27 per barrel.
Foreign Portfolio Investors offloaded equities worth Rs 2,545.87 crore on Monday, according to exchange data.

Benchmark Sensex declined by 360 points while the Nifty closed below the 17,000-level on Monday due to a sell-off in financials, IT and capital goods shares amid a global rout in equities on lingering worries over the banking crisis.
The 30-share BSE Sensex declined by 360.95 points or 0.62 per cent to close at 57,628.95 as 23 of its stocks ended in the red. The index tanked more than 900 points to touch a low of 57,084.91 before recovering some losses at the fag end.
The broader Nifty of the NSE plunged by 111.65 points or 0.65 per cent to close below the 17,000-level at 16,988.40. As many as 40 Nifty stocks declined while 10 advanced.
Analysts said investors fretted over the US banking crisis even as Federal Reserve and other central banks took efforts to ease a fast-growing banking crisis.
"The fear of contagion of the financial crisis has kept investors away from the equity markets as the global market faces numerous hurdles. Despite Swiss regulators' intervention to protect the global financial system, investor sentiment remained shaky," said Vinod Nair, Head of Research at Geojit Financial Services.
Among Sensex shares, Bajaj Finserv fell the most by 4.08 per cent. Bajaj Finance declined by 3.01 per cent, Tata Steel by 2.2 per cent, Wipro by 2.09 per cent, Tata Motors by 1.96 per cent, IndusInd Bank by 1.9 per cent, SBI by 1.75 per cent, Tech Mahindra by 1.66 per cent and HCL Tech by 1.2 per cent.
TCS, Infosys, Power Grid, Maruti, Reliance, HDFC twins, L&amp;T, M&amp;M, NTPC and Ultratech Cement were also among the losers.
Hindustan Unilever bucked the trend to emerge as the biggest Sensex gainer, rising by 2.45 per cent. ITC, Kotak Bank, Sun Pharma and Nestle also closed higher.

Nearly a week after its collapse, the parent firm of the US lender Silicon Valley Bank has filed for bankruptcy protection to seek buyers for its assests.&nbsp;
The move comes as an emergency measure after the US authorities seized the bank's assets following a run on deposits earlier this month.
The parent of Silicon Valley Bank, seized last week by the US, is filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.
SVB Financial Group, along with its CEO and its chief financial officer, were targeted this week in a class action lawsuit that claims the company didn't disclose the risks that future interest rate increases would have on its business.
SVB Financial Group is no longer affiliated with Silicon Valley Bank after its seizure by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp.
The bank's successor, Silicon Valley Bridge Bank, is being run under the jurisdiction of the FDIC and is not included in the Chapter 11 filing.
SVB Financial Group believes it has approximately USD 2.2 billion of liquidity.&nbsp;

The domestic equity market on Thursday snapped the five-day losing streak as the benchmark Sensex recouped its lost ground and closed 78 points higher on fag-end value buying in banking, energy and financial stocks.
A positive opening in the European market helped the investor sentiments even as clouds hovered over the health of the global banking system amid Credit Suisse woes and bank failures in the US. Halting its five-day losing streak, the 30-share BSE benchmark rose 78.94 points or 0.14 per cent to close at 57,634.84 points, with 17 of its constituents ending in the green. During the session, it touched a high of 57,887.46 points and a low of 57,158.69 points.
The 50-share NSE Nifty advanced 13.45 points or 0.08 per cent to settle at 16,985.60 points. As many as Nifty 32 stocks closed in the green.
Equity benchmarks bounced back to end in the positive territory after trading lower for the most part of the volatile session.
Nestle India was the biggest gainer in the Sensex pack, rising 2.54 per cent, followed by Asian Paints, HUL, Titan, Sun Pharma, SBI, PowerGrid and Bajaj Finserv.
On the other hand, Tata Steel, IndusInd Bank, Bharti Airtel, Infosys, Wipro, HCL Tech and Reliance were among the losers, slipping up to 3.31 per cent.
