Maxwell to take break from cricket to deal with mental health issues

Oct 31, 2019 12:52 IST

Australia's Glenn Maxwell has surprisingly decided to take an indefinite break from cricket midway the T20 series against Sri Lanka, to deal with mental health difficulties, Cricket Australia confirmed on Thursday. Maxwell has now been replaced by D'Arcy Short for the 3rd and final T20 against the Lankans. 31-year-old Maxwell raised the issue with Australia's support staff and has been given full backing by the board in taking time out to deal with the issue. Maxi though was in good form and smashed a 28-ball 62 in the opening T20.
