Malaysia's former Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad has been ousted from his political party in the latest twist of a power struggle with his successor, but he has vowed to challenge the move. The resignation of 94-yr-old Mahathir, comes amid rumours that he may form a new coalition without his designated successor, Anwar Ibrahim. The world's oldest elected leader returned to power in 2018. In a surprise victory, he ousted then-prime minister Najib Razak, who is on trial for the 1MDB scam, in which he took millions of dollars from a government wealth fund. It is not clear who will be the next Prime Minister or whether general elections will be held.
