Lower drinking age to 21 & reduce dry days: Delhi govt panel

Dec 30, 2020 18:04 IST

A committee set up by Delhi govt has recommended that drinking age should be lowered to 21 from current 25 and the number of dry days should be reduced in the Capital. The committee was set up by the AAP govt to suggest ways to augment excise revenue. It has recommended that the number of dry days in a year be reduced to three, issuing of licenses to departmental stores to sell beer and wine be convenient, and there be more equitable distribution of government-run liquor stores across the city, the Hindustan Times has reported.
