Louvre in Paris is the most visited museum in the world, and it hit 10.2 million visits last year, surpassing its competitors by a 26% margin. Meanwhile, as the footfall rises, the staff and security assigned at the museum have had enough. The museum had to be shut down on Monday in response to the protest staged by the security staff against the increasing number of tourists, leading to suffocating and unacceptable conditions. The staff has been voicing its concern about overcrowding , and the shortage of hands on board to manage the incoming flow. The museum is set to resume services from Wednesday, May 29.
