2nd T20: Virat scales mount 3k as India thrash England

Mar 14, 2021 23:26 IST | By Editorji News Desk

India has now made it a habit of staging strong comebacks in a series as the men in blue thrashed England by 7 wickets in the 2nd T20 to level the 5-match series 1-1. Virat Kohli finally won the toss and his decision to bowl first proved right. None of the English batsmen managed a big score as India restricted them to 164/6. KL Rahul once again failed to impress but Ishan Kishan grabbed the opportunity with both hands. He took the bowlers to the cleaners and became only the second Indian cricketer to score a half-century on T20 debut. Virat too struck form and guided his side to a clinical win with an unbeaten 73. What made the victory sweater was the fact that Virat became the first batsman to score 3000 T20I runs.
