After 45 long years, the longest running musical in the world will hold its final performance on New Year's eve in San Francisco. The show, called Beach Blanket Babylon, has been a must watch for tourists and locals in San Francisco. The musical revue began back in 1974 and was initially thought to run for just 6 weeks. Now, a part of the typical San Francisco experience, the show brings a spoof of pop culture and hosts a number of characters in colourful costumes with funky hats. A typical performance includes following Snow White around while she's in search of her prince charming and the pop-cultural and political characters she encounters along the way. With over 17,000 performances, the producer felt this was the right time to bring down the curtains and not for any financial reason.
