Union law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad hit back at the Congress, for their comments on Delhi High Court judge Jutice Muralidhar's transfer.
In a series of tweets, Ravi Shankar Prasad wrote, Justice Muralidhar's transfer was done in accordance with the recommendation of the Supreme Court collegium dated 12th of February and a judge's consent is taken before his transfer.
He said that the govt respects independence of judiciary, and by politicising a routine transfer, the Congress has yet again displayed its scant regard for the judiciary.
Responding to Rahul Gandhi's comments on Justice Loya, the minister said the Loya judgement has been well settled by the Supreme Court. He asked if the Congress leader considers himself above the Supreme Court?
Responding to the Congress' criticism that the government was trying to shield BJP leaders who made alleged hate speeches, Prasad said the opposition party had "no right to lecture about objectionable speeches".
