During his Bengal election blitz, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took chief minister Mamata Banerjee head-on and accused her of using violence as a means for politics. The Prime Minister raked up the clash between BJP and TMC workers in Durgapur a day before his rally. "I have full knowledge of what happened yesterday. When a diya is about to burn out, it sparks a little stronger than before. By suffocating politics, punishing innocents, vandalising cars of party workers, they think that they sustain their rule. But be warned, you cannot take away the spirit of Bengal with violence," said Modi.
